GetMySound

Your sounds. Real synthesizers. Playable instruments.

Do you have a collection of synthesizer patches you would love to use in your music? Or did you sell the synth and kept the patches, but have fond memories of how it sounded? You may not have the time, equipment or patience to turn that into multisampled instruments.

GetMySound can do that for you.

We take your synthesizer patches and sample them on actual hardware synthesizers, capturing their distinctive sound and turning them into playable sample-based instruments. Whether you have an old MIDI System Exclusive bank tucked away on a hard drive or a collection of custom patches you've created yourself, we can help to bring those sounds into your modern music production environment.

Simply provide your patch data, choose your sampling options, and let us do the work. We'll take care of the hardware, recording, processing and instrument creation, delivering ready-to-use sample packages for your studio.

You bring the patches. We provide the synthesizers and the sampling expertise.

Real hardware, not emulations

Every synth in the GetMySound roster is the real deal. No plugins, no emulations.

Bring your own patches

Factory presets are out. Custom presets are in. If you want to use the patches from some magazine a long time ago, this is your chance. If you remember some sounds fondly and you still have them on disk somewhere, dig them up and send them for sampling. And if you are a sound designer and you want to turn your patches into sample libraries, GetMySound is the easiest way to do that.

Multisampled instruments in multiple formats

For the format of your new sample library you can choose any of Decent Sampler, Bitwig Multisample, SFZ, or just plain raw WAV files with sensible filenames.

A carefully curated collection

We have a lovingly maintained collection of some of the finest digital synths from the 1980s, the 1990s, and the 2000s. Soon we will add a gallery of instruments for you to feast your eyes (and ears) on.

How it works

There are three steps to multisample heaven:

  1. Choose a synthesizer — Browse the available hardware.
  2. Provide your patches — Attach your SysEx bank or patch data to your order e-mail.
  3. Receive your instruments — We sample your patches and deliver the finished packages.

Sampling options

The GetMySound sample packages come in three different sizes: Essential, Standard, and Complete. The following table gives you the details about the packages.

PackageMIDI Note RangeSampling intervalVelocity layersPriceCharacter
EssentialC3 to B46 semitones29 €Straight to the point
StandardC1 to B53 semitones419 €Most bang for the buck
CompleteC1 to B51 semitone629 €All you can eat

NOTE: The sampling interval determines how frequently individual notes are recorded, expressed in semitones. Notes between sampled pitches are reproduced through pitch transposition in the sampler at playback time.

We reserve the right to revise the pricing at any time, but any pending orders will not be affected. Seasonal discounts may be available occasionally.

If you want more than one patch, bulk discounts apply for any single order:

Number of patchesDiscount per package
3 to 5 patches10% off
6 to 10 patches15% off
11 to 20 patches20% off
21 or more patches25% off

For an entire bank of patches (16, 32, etc.), ask for a quote!

Upgrades are available for the difference between the package prices. So, for example, if you paid the price for the Essential package for some patch, the upgrade to a Complete package of the same patch will cost you 20 € at the current prices. (There are no downgrades.)

Sample formats

Each package contains the raw WAV files for the samples, along with instrument definitions for Decent Sampler, Bitwig multisample format, and SFZ. We reserve the right to add or remove formats at any time.

All the material will be provided in one big ZIP file, so you will need to unzip it to get at the files.

How to order

At this time you can order your multisamples by sending an e-mail to the following address (masked slightly to confuse bots, for what it's worth): getmysound (at) coniferproductions (dot) com. Please attach the MIDI System Exclusive file for the patch (or patches) you want sampled. If it is a full bank, please specify which patch or patches you want.

We will analyse the MIDI System Exclusive file(s) and tell you if the patches can be transferred to one of our synths, and sampled for your enjoyment. In case there is a problem with the patch file, we'll let you know. If all is good, you will receive an order confirmation with details and pricing. You will also get a payment link which you can use to pay for your order.

Delivery

At this time we provide an experimental service to gauge interest. As each multisample package is custom-produced, please allow at least within 72 hours for delivery after your order has been confirmed and payment received. This will likely get faster over time as we increase automation.

After your payment is completed you will get a link to download your sample packages. Download links remain valid for 30 days. Please download your samples before the link expires! If you experience any problems with your download, contact us and we'll do our best to help.

Technical information

The sampling is performed on various Mac computers with several audio and MIDI interfaces, including but not limited to:

The samples are captured using a combination of DAWs and custom software developed by Conifer Productions.

Terms and conditions

If you are the original sound designer for the patches, or you have obtained the necessary rights, you are allowed to sell the sample packs you ordered from GetMySound. Otherwise the sample packs are only for your individual use.
